Inbound Marketing, a brief history
13 years ago you couldn’t even guess how big inbound marketing was going to be. You were barely getting your head around outbound marketing. It was this exclusive club that only big players had access to. They paid top money to reach customers (both new and old). Tv Ads, billboards, direct paper mail, spam, telemarketing and cold calling are just a few of the tactics used under the outbound marketing umbrella.
But similar to how the shift between TV and the Internet is happening at an ever increasingly rate so is outbound marketing withering while inbound marketing is everblooming.
Hop on the train
The internet is the change the mayans warned us about a few hundred years ago. It’s all about equality. Big and small companies alike have the same starting line. From there on it’s a matter of how easily you are found.
Earn your way in
You still have to invest in order to profit. But the customer base is no longer regionally locked. It’s worldwide. Everyone with access to the internet is a potential client.
Get found, convert and Analyze
How do you get to be found in this huge, ever changing cloud?
Excellent SEO is your first stop. Get to be as easily found as possible. Our CEO Florin Muresan has a free coaching session that covers how to write SEO content and promote it on relevant social networks. It’s free so give it a read if you haven’t already.
Write. Inbound marketing is all about generating traffic. More traffic means more visitors. More visitors means more leads. A blog gets you 55% more traffic. Basically blogging increases your indexed pages making you even more easily found. Be creative. Post relevant and compelling content that stands out from the crowd.
From there on it is just a matter of converting traffic into leads. You do this by creating attractive offers through awareness and educational content.
Measure everything. Unique visitors, new and repeating visitors, where the traffic is coming from, referring websites, number of pages in Google, keyword performance, search rankings and social presence/growth. Higher is better.
And lastly inbound marketing is about being organic. Treat others like you want others to treat you. Get your content out in a natural, non-intrusive way.
